other remedies of the Court of Appeals (CA) decision on writ of continuing
mandamus. Prospero said the court decision will served as basis on filing a case
against the coal fired power plant operation in Iligan City and other places in

CA DECISION ON WRIT OF CONTINUING MANDAMUS EXPLAINED
ILIGAN CITY, December 27, 2014
- Environmentalist and lead counsel for the petitioners, Atty. Kerth Jossef M. Ablanque, gave the overview of the environmental case,
writ of continuing mandamus, in its decision by the Court of Appeals dated
December 17, 2014, won favorably for the petitioners, a heroic action against the respondents,
the Iligan City government. Ablanque said that the case was filed sometime in April, 2012 and on September 12, 2012, the Court of Appeals issued the
temporary environmental protection order (TEPO) equivalent to the temporary
restraining order (TRO). Ablanque added that in the TEPO the local government of
Iligan city was ordered by the court to take concrete measures to protect the

CONCERT RALLY AGAINST COAL FIRED POWER PLANT
Iligan City, December 13, 2014 - Concert rally against coal-fired power plant was held at Iligan City freedom park, by the Kapagintaw band of Iligan Medical Center College. Majority of the people in Iligan City is opposed to the operation of coal fired power plant and preferred on renewable energy such as the hydro power. Video report by Jun Enriquez.
