Peace Analysis (Part 1 ) of Jun Aparece, Media Consultant, MPC

Aparece explained the possibility of having a peace agreement between the Philippine government and Moro Islamic Liberation Front this year. A comprehensive, inclusive and transparent negotiated political solution for just and lasting peace in Mindanao will be achieved the soonest time. The media will have a big role in the campaign to pressure and influence a charter change in congress. In March 2012, a kinship identity, reaffirming the cultural history that Moro and Lumad are brothers before the coming of the Spanish colonizers. The GPH-MILF has many evolving agreed principles for a smooth and effective transition mechanism to establish a new autonomy political entity that within this year there will be signing of a framework agreement and establish a technical working group to study the details on wealth sharing and power sharing between the NAPE and the national government. This will include the process to legalize the decision for peace in Mindanao to include congress and the people to vote for a plebiscite.
