VIDEO FILE 1: "A GATHERING FOR PEACE", AN ALL-OUT-PEACE RALLY IN KOLAMBUGAN


Kolambugan, Lanao del Norte, February 25, 2015 - Thousands of rallyists from the municipalities of Kolambugan and Tangkal, all of Lanao del Norte province, launched an All-out-peace rally in kolambugan in commemoration of the29th anniversary of EDSA 1 people power revolution on February 25. People from all walks of life joined the event and in one voice they will never allow the all-out-war to happen again in their respective places. Kolambugan Mayor Lorenzo V. Manigos will never allow any war to happen in Kolambugan. He said people should unite and fight against spoilers and safeguard their place from harm. manigos said that technology will not always give good benefits for development but this will also give opportunity to undermine the peaceful communities to panic such as text messages threat and creating fear. He said all text messages were not true. He said that is the work by the spoilers of peace because they will benefit when there is war. Manigos said he coordinated properly with the military and PNP in protecting the people and no need to panic. He asked the people if they received text messages do not pass it to others because you are being used in propaganda by the spoilers. Tangkal Mayor Fatima M. Tomawis said she always support any peace movement like this. She will work with Mayor Manigos to maintain peace and order in their adjacent municipalities which were devastated by the many atrocities in the past. Col. Gilbert I. Gapay said he witnessed the all-out-war in 2000 for 6 months started in Lanao and escalated up to camp Abubakar, Maguindanao. He said many lives were lost from the military and MILF including civilians, and Millions of properties were damaged. He was then a Captain during that time and one of his tanks was hit during the war in Libertad, Kauswagan. He said, as much as possible this will never happen again. He assured the public that proper coordination with the MILF based on the existing ceasefire mechanism is in place and working. He said the Military is in close coordination with the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Lanao del Norte headed by PSSupt. Paitao and Iligan City headed by PSSupt Benas. Mayor Manigos and Mayor Tomawis in unison asked both house of congress to pass the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) to give just and lasting peace in Mindanao.
